Andy Caldwell: the Voice of Reason.

Andy was born on an Air Force Base in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1958.  Three years later, the family moved to Kingsburg, CA where Andy’s dad began farming after serving as a career service veteran.  Andy and his mother moved to Lompoc when he was ten years old, one year after his father passed away in 1967.

Andy graduated from Lompoc High School and from UC San Diego, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1980.

After college, he started working as a seasonal laborer at Sinton & Brown before earning a promotion to Industrial Relations and Safety Manager of Union Sugar in 1988.

When Andy left the company in 1991, he began fighting for greater opportunity for area workers and businesses as a founder of the Coalition of Labor, Agriculture, and Business. Better known as COLAB, the group has 1,000 members in Santa Barbara County, and Andy helped to start other organizations of the same name in Imperial, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties.

Andy has been a tireless advocate of greater opportunity for workers and small business, government transparency and effectiveness, and common-sense solutions to problems that people face every day.

Andy and his wife Linda have been married for 32 years.  They built their home and raised their seven children here on the Central Coast.
